AMAZING BIRD PRINTS

2nd Graders are just finishing a unit in printmaking. Since in class they are learning about skip counting, prints lend themselves very well to the idea of multiples. Children focused on using varying lines, such as thick and thin and making sure that all areas of their print was interesting to the "viewer".

Prek 3D Masks

Prek Kids have been learning various ways to make paper pop out .....last week we've made paper sculptures. This week we are making faces using techniques learned last week.

Ordered New Shelves for the Art Room

Thanks to our amazingly organized and hardworking HSA, now I will have more floor space in the art room. I just ordered 2 double shelves from Ikea. I need them most to place drying large sculptures and tall gallon paint and glue containers. When they arrive I would love some help putting them together.....in exchange, I'll make you a batch of delicious banana muffins.....

Thinking about our garden.....some ideas...

In case you have not heard, we are creating a garden here at Murch. I will be trying to get all classes involved in contributing somehow to this project. To begin, the 1st graders will make rock sculptures for the garden by painting boulders. If you see a boulder (head-sized to a bit smaller) please drop it off in the art room. We will need quite a few.

Call for Wipes for The Art Room....

Call for MORE boxes and tubes....

We are creating dinosaurs in Pre-k and four-legged animals in kindergarten.....so we need as many boxes and tubes as you can handle. I must also thank the families who have been religiously dropping off donation"gifts" for me.....Without you these fun lessons would not be happening!!!
