Rhymes come alive!

Children were introduced to the rhyme, "Rain, Rain, go away". Since they have been studying how to make 2D paper into 3d structures by folding, curling and other methods, creating this rainy garden scene seemed perfect. Each child created their own flower which was then added to a class collage. Children then added stems, leaves, grass and raindrops to the collage.

Garden Mosaics! (1st grade)

Children in 1st grade have been working on these mosaics for weeks. First they sketched images that were garden-related in their sketchbooks. They then chose a favorite image and enlarged it on a 12"x18" paper. They then studies various styles and patterns of placing mosaic tiles down.
