Update on Hamster and Hamster Playground!!
Thanks to four amazing parents at Murch the hamster playground will be on display next week. The hamster playground is a combined effort by all 5 first grade classes to build size-appropriate and fun 'playground' equipment for a hamster. Each child has spent about 4 weeks creating this equipment.

I will be displaying my recent works at the Wilson Music and Arts Festival: October 15....
The Festival: The Wilson Music & Arts Festival will take place on October 15, 2011, from 10 am to 5 pm. It is FREE and open to Wilson students, faculty, alums, and community supporters. Bands will be playing on the Wilson field and in the auditorium. Dramatic performers will be in the auditorium and the new black box. Arts, crafts, and individual art pieces will be on display and for sale in the atrium. The newly renovated building will be open to the public. Enjoy great food from the DC food trucks and local restaurants and stores. Come experience the new Wilson!

Typical weather: The typical weather is highs in the lower 70s and lows in the upper 40s with light and variable winds in the evening. We hope to have an excellent fall day to enjoy astronomy! We want you and your kids to have an enjoyable time at our event, so please plan to dress in layers and please remember that hats, gloves, and scarfs will feel pretty nice after dark when it will rapidly cool off.

NOVAC invites you to the largest public star gaze in the Washington DC area. Learn about astronomy while enjoying the night sky with hundreds of telescopes, binoculars and homemade projects. Many experienced astronomers will be on hand to answer questions and share their knowledge.You do not need to be a member of the club or own any astronomical equipment to attend. All you need is an interest in the wonders of the cosmos. Easy access, lots of equipment and a dark sky make for a good night under the stars. Please join us!
