Learning about symmetry

What better way to teach symmetry than the old fold painted paper method? Children in Kindergarten loved this project so much. I gave them a half sheet with a basic half butterfly drawn and they used paint to fill in the spaces drawn. They were told to quickly fold the paper and open it to reveal their butterflies.
