3rd Grade create cyclical designs on clear circles

Children did an amazing job creating cyclical window designs using shapes. Each child used cardboard shapes to trace into cyclical patterns. They were also asked to overlap some for a more interesting affect.
They then were asked to thicken their lines.
One important factor in keeping a peaceful art room is having enough materials so that kids could remain in their current level of focus without needing to have a discussion with table mates about who gets what when. Of course such negotiations have their merit, yet, the priority here is maintaining ones focus on the objective set for that day.

Children used sharpies to color in the wheels. It is very important that all children come in wearing their smocks to art. A smock is just an old t-shirt that you no longer need. The child keeps them in their locker/cubby and comes and leaves from art wearing it. Also please write your child's name across the front.
