Cognomovement Principles in the Classroom
I have started doing Cognomovement in the classroom. It's only 4 minutes from each 45 minute class but it's made a huge difference in behavior, engagement, and positive attitude.
it's week 2 of school, my 23rd year of teaching and I have yet to see a kid misbehave. I attribute this to my 4minute brain exercise I do at the beginning of every class. below is a video that goes over the initial plans for rolling it out with 2nd and 4th graders.

Letter artists
We have been looking at the works of Daniel Duffy, Robert Indiana and Adam Pendleton. I am attaching the resource videos below. The kids became to inspired by the work they have started working with letters and words of interest to them. Like any choice classroom, allowing kids to choose their words and choose which artists inspires them is essential for high engagement and tru art-making experience.
