Kinder trees
Having kids draw trees is a great way to teach about lines and hot to make lines of different thicknesses.
One thing I love most love about kid drawings is how they are very serious. These drawings may not have much value to any casual onlooker, yet, to the kids these are serious drawings.

Sewing 4th grade
I wanted to teach students how to sew and introduce them to all the great things you can do with a needle and thread.....We began this unit by simply having kids make a pillow.
Next, students made a purse, a belt and/or a bracelet with a button to make taking off and on the bracelet easy.
Next, I borrowed some stuffed animals from my colleagues with small kids and they were tasked to make clothes for them.
The finale for the unit was a challenge to use paper forms to make a vest.
These are some of my finished pieces.
The students were so proud of their creations...they insisted on taking the finished vests home that very day.
One student even added a pocket for markers and two flower decorations on either side.
